IMPORTANT:

Our windows are heavy due to the steel incerts, and thicker than usual glass used.
Ensure you have an assistant to help you with the process. Avoid doing it alone.

Tools Required:

1. Bubble level
2. Screwdriver
3. Strap Ties (any hardware store)
4. Self-drilling screws #10 x 1/2
5. Low expansion Insulating Foam
6. Cedar or plastic shims
7. Hummer
8. Structural wood screws or Anchor bolts

STEP 1

Place the handle into the socket (vertical down oriented) and rotate it 90 degrees towards the glass to unlock the sash. Remove the handle. Punch down the upper hinge pin to release and remove the sash together with the installed glass unit. That will decrease the window weight and make the installation easier.

STEP 2

Remove All protection film, from the front and rear sides of the frame

STEP 3

Secure Strap Ties to the outer edge of the frame using #10 x 1/2 self-drilling screws.
Make sure they are installed 1′ from the corners on each side with a maximum distance of 2′ between each pair. Add more ties to cover such gaps.

STEP 4

Place 1/2 thick shims on the bottom.
Install the Frame into the opening over the shims.
Align it with the outer walls.
Ensure it is perfectly leveled in 3 axes and secure it with shims on the top and side corners.

STEP 5

Secure Strap Ties to the brick with anchor bolts or fasten them with structural wooden screws to the studs. Always check the leveling during screw placement.

STEP 6

Hang the sash on the bottom pin and return the upper hinge to its initial position.
Punch up the hinge pin with the hummer to its initial place and ensure the sash swings normally.

STEP 7

Install the handle back to its place and secure with supplied 2 machined screws using Philips screwdriver.

STEP 8

Ensure the window is closed and locked – the Handle positioned – vertically down.
Blow in the foam sealant around the frame without gaps to ensure the proper insulation. IMPORTANT: Do not open the window before the foam dries out!
Once the foam hardened, then seal with caulking compound from the outside. Finish with the wood or drywall from the inside.
